Matt Tarka – ‘Vision Hazy’

Based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, folk-rock artist Matt Tarka writes songs which are honest and authentic. His new single, ‘Vision Hazy’ sees him share the story of the loss of a close friend, and the pain that came with it.

Matt Tarka’s writing is simple yet effective, he paints a picture with his words that allows his listeners to connect with him on a much deeper level. His new EP, of which this is the title track, was recorded at Low Watt Recording, in Savannah Georgia. Produced by Ted Comerford, known for his work with Jukebox the Ghost, and Jonas Sees In Color, ‘Vision Hazy’ was produced by Mitch Easter, who’s best known for his work with R.E.M., Pavement, and Dinosaur Jr. With this EP, Tarka realises a sound which is fully his own.

Tarka’s main goal with ‘Vision Hazy’ was to create something which resonated with his listeners, while at the same time commemorating his friend, who did much to influence his musical style. In the video he takes old relics from a bygone age, while cutting in clips of youthful innocence, thereby rendering the fond memories he has of his friend.
