Lizzy Latimer – ‘Can’t Cage Me’ feat. Kyah Baby

Lizzy Latimer is a singer/songwriter from Sydney, Australia, whose new single, ‘Can’t Cage Me’, has a similar style to artists such as Meghan Trainor and P!nk.

Lizzy has a background in classical music, and has played violin since the age of three. That’s just one of her accomplishments, she’s also a singer and multi-instrumentalist, who earned her Bachelor Degree in Commercial Music and Production by the age of 20.

‘Can’t Cage Me’ is a mix of hip hop and pop – hip pop if you will – and was written about letting the one you love be the one you fell in love with, rather than trying to tie them down, or cage them.

Speaking of the track, Latimer says,

“Sometimes it’s the element that most attracts a partner to you, that in the end, the partner can’t handle.

You can’t clip the wings of your partner in order to make them stay, rather, you can improve yourself so they’ll never want to leave.

I wrote this song about scenarios I have seen many times. In the cases I’ve seen, the woman’s ambition and drive is what their boyfriend/husband was drawn to, but after some time, they keep pressuring them to basically just be a house wife.”

Outside of singing, Latimer works as an audio engineer and music producer. she’s performed in symphony orchestras – as well as rock bands – all over the world, but always returns to her true loves of Hip Hop and RnB.
