Azmeryth x NTRE – ‘Feel You’

Performing as Azmeryth, Melanie Heide is an indie dream pop artist. The 24 year old isn’t afraid to break the barrier of what it means to exist – she can be described as everything and anything all at once. Azmeryth is an extension of herself, and has been evolved over the years to create a perfect image of how she views herself both on and off stage.

Originally from Del Rio, Texas, Melanie grew up with a passion for music instilled in her from an early age, with her father a musician. She started writing songs at the age of 12, joining the choir the same year, and remained in choir until graduating from high school. She started studying at the University of Texas, in Austin, and joined a classic rock covers band, as the lead vocalist. She left the group after two years to develop her Azmeryth project/persona.

With musical influences includint Marina And The Diamonds, Pink Floyd, St Vincent, and Beyoncé, experimentation is a central theme in Azmeryth’s music, and she also has an interest in fashion, painting, and drawing.

Azmeryth has collaborated with some of her good friends, including Kurt LaVacque who goes by the stage name NTRE (pronounced “nature”) on their songs, ‘Feel You’, and ‘Rosey’, along with a few other projects. Her latest video, for ‘Feel You’, is directed by Jessie Garcia, also from Del Rio. The storyline revolves around a couple who have fallen out of love. We see them painting pictures of how they feel, the woman seemingly displeased in the relationship. Next it cuts to Azmeryth as the anti-Cupid ghost of their lost love desperately trying to make them see that they need to be pulled apart. This dark video is contrasted with some added humour – the girlfriend was into women the whole time.
