‘HOW TO TALK TO GIRLS AT PARTIES’ Starring Elle Fanning, Alex Sharp and Nicole Kidman

STUDIOCANAL is proud to present ‘How To Talk To Girls At Parties’.

From the minds of Neil Gaiman and director, John Cameron-Mitchell (‘Hedwig And The Angry Inch’) comes this whacky, delicious and wildly funny tale of Enn (Alex Sharp), a teenager growing up in 1970s London. Punk rock is about to take over the music scene and Enn wants to be part of it.

Along with two friends they stumbled across a weird, cult-like group where he meets Zan (Elle Fanning), a mysterious girl, and he falls in love. Zan seems as though she is from another planet, and she is, along with the rest of the weird cult-like group. They are aliens on a sort of gap-year voyage of discovery.

Soon, Enn and his new love, along with his friends and the punk rock scene are set on a collision course to battle the aliens, armed only with studs, leather, spiky hair, Nicole Kidman as a punk (you really have to see her dressed as a Debbie Harry lookalike), and loud shouty music.

Punk vs Aliens is an intriguing idea that could only have wriggled from the mind of Gaiman. This is a story of love, leather, music, teenage angst, face-licking and testing bonds to the limits. It has some delicious lines, some great performances, and that unique British feel that plants you in the middle of 1970’s dirty London. If films had a smell then this would smell of armpits and warm beer. And that’s a compliment.

‘How To Talk To Girls At Parties’ was released in cinemas on May 11th and should be high on your list of must-sees. It will make you smile, I guarantee it.
