Beauty In The Breakdown – ‘Thinkin Bout You’

Imagine you found your one true love. You vow to stay together until the end of time, there’s not a doubt in each of your minds. But one night – without warning – your lover leaves never to return. What do you do? Break down in despair? Or rise like a phoenix, grow stronger, and forgive? ‘Thinkin Bout You’, the new single form LA electronic pop artists Beauty In The Breakdown, get its inspiration from a dream by front woman Chastity Ashley, and is paired with a video as powerfully emotive as the song itself.

Beauty In The Breakdown are no new kids on the block, and indeed the group comprises world-renowned artists: Chastity Ashley has played drums and percussion with the likes of Cypress Hill, Duran Duran, and Alice In Chains, as well as performed on Vans Warped Tour, and opend for Mötley Crue, and Aerosmith, while ongwriter and musical partner Ian Alexander has worked for years as an electro/rock guitarist. The pair have also enlisted Grammy Award-winning keyboardist, Tim “Sonix” Rouse, and well-known bass sensation, Alexandria Reyes. Ashley’s tribal percussion influences the sound of the quintet, meaning that the vibe is a pop hybrid which is unafraid to cross genre boundaries.

The video sees Chastity fighting off the powerful darkness which accompanies the tragic loss of love. Alexander drives off into the night, but nonetheless the band’s positive message overcomes, and Chastity breaks through the shackles holding her back. Directed by KTEE Thomas, the clip has a surreal and futuristic feel, yet emphasising that no matter how much we progress technologically, our emotions remain the same.
