‘The Life Tour’ – Boy George & Culture Club, Belinda Carlisle, And Tom Bailey From The Thompson Twins To Do 11 Date UK Arena Tour

November is looking pretty hot with tickets now on sale for ‘The Life Tour’. Commencing on the 9th of that month at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena, and winding up on 23 November at Leeds First Direct Arena, the tour will see performances by 80s sweetheart Belinda Carlisle, Tom Bailey from The Thompson Twins, and the fabulously iconic Boy George and Culture Club.

Since they burst onto the scene in 1981, Culture Club have sold over 150 million records worldwide, and have been recognised as a Grammy Award winning UK institution. Their hits, including ‘Do You Really Want To Hurt Me’, ‘Karma Chameleon’, ‘Church Of The Poison Mind’, ‘Victims’, ‘It’s A Miracle’, and ‘The War Song’ instantly spring to mind at the mention of the band’s name. With all four original members of the group performing, it’s going to be one of the most exciting tours of the decade!

Belinda Carlisle was hailed as one of the most beautiful women in pop, and started as a teen punk singer in the GoGos, before going solo and rocking her way around the world with her distinctive vocals. Who can’t remember her classic hits, ‘Heaven Is A Place On Earth’, and ‘Leave A Light On’?

Last and certainly not least, Tom Bailey shot to fame as part of the Thompson Twins, whose music and videos were an 80s fixture on radio and Music TV. It’s been a wait of nearly 30 years for Thompson Twins fans to get the chance to see a live performance by any of the band members, and now they’ll get their chance. Tom, with a new band, will perform the Thompson Twins hits, and features him on vocals, keys, guitar, harmonica, and percussion. Tom’s all-female band feature Charlotte Raven on vocals and keyboards, Amanda Kramer (The Psychedelic Furs/Information Society) on vocals and keyboards and Paulina Szczepaniak on electronic drums

Tom Bailey started writing again in 2016 and will be releasing a new album this year. The first track, ‘Come So Far’, was released as a single in June 2016. Written from the perspective of a refugee in the current crisis the song is a moving portrayal of moving into the unknown. The single was released through Cooking Vinyl and all proceeds went to refugee charity Médicins Sans Frontières. A special numbered and signed 7” vinyl version of the single was also released through Pledge Music.

Tickets are available through Eventbrite, and Culture Club’s official website.
