My Silent Bravery – ’18’

Matt Wade, aka My Silent Bravery, is bringing back the 80s with the retro music video for his new track, ’18’. The song is a showcase of how far Matt’s music has come – he’s shifted it up a gear to a more anthemic sound, while at the same time retaining the alt-rock style his fans have grown to love.

’18’ is an softly acoustic style track, bright guitar and colourful harmonies to stream through, while soft synths and references to both Bon Jovi and Patrick Swayze add to the 80s feel of the song.

The video for ‘18‘ makes like a VHS recording, with 80s references a-plenty. From Tom Cruise ‘Risky Business’ and Cher posters, door streamers, denim jackets, string lights and so forth all add to the 80s vibe (not to mention the dancing style from the time). There’s a love story at the root of it all, the varsity jacket wearing villain and the shy underdog fighting for love. There is however a twist at the end…watch and see…
