18th & Addison – ‘Time Bomb’

18th & Addison are proof that music has the power to bring people together. New Jersey natives Tom Kunzman and Kait DiBenedetto are a punk powerhouse whose latest track ‘Time Bomb’ is the first release from their forthcoming EP, ‘Vultures’.

Joining forces in 2013, Tom and Kait have long been in music: Tom the front man for pop-punk/rock band A Criminal Risk, and Kait with What’s Eating Gilbert, punk artist Chad Gilbert, known for legendary band New Found Glory. Kait was signed as one of MTVs budding new label back when she was 16, and began touring across the country with her band, Just Kait. However, after meeting Tom in their hometown, she formed a great bond and undeniable chemistry. They’ve taken it a step further: during their performance on Vans’ Warped Tour 2017, Tom introduced the next song in their set, by getting down one knee and proposing. The pair rock together on stage and in love.

‘Vultures’ is a record that the pair have been working on tirelessly, and showcases their growth as a band; they’ve taken their experiences as influences and forged a lyrically honest album.

Kunzman says the music video for ‘Time Bomb’ takes its inspiration from the trend for “wacky” videos going viral and becoming famous, while musicians and bands have to work 24/7 to keep their dreams alive. The clip shows a talentless talent show: each contestant worse than the last. Kait and Tom play judges, dismissing each act in turn, until the last. A pair of gothic punk rockers impress the judges so much that they give them a standing ovation. It’s a rocking track with a thumping beat, unforgettable melody, and fantastic vocal harmonies.
