Todd Haynes’ WONDERSTRUCK’ In Cinemas 6 April

STUDIOCANAL are proud to present this enchanting film starring Julianne Moore, Oakes Fegley, Millicent Simmonds, Jaden Michael, and Michelle Williams.

‘Wonderstruck’ Positively fizzes with optimism and energy.

Adapted by Brian Selznik from his book of the same name and directed by BAFTA-winner Todd Haynes, ‘Wonderstruck’ tells the tale of two lives, separated by 50 years but woven together by the strings of family ties. It tells the story of Ben, who in 1977, is living with an aunt, having lost his mother to a tragic accident. He makes a discovery in his mother’s possessions that launches him on a quest to find his father, a man he never knew, taking him to New York and the American Museum of Natural History.

Here he meets Jamie, whose father works at the museum, and the two become friends. In the second strand of the story, it’s 1927 and Rose is on a mission to find her favourite Hollywood actress, Lillian Mayhew, played by Todd’s long-time collaborator, Academy Award winner Julianne Moore (‘Still Alice’ and ‘Far From Heaven’). Rose is locked in Lillian’s dressing room but escapes and finds herself at the American Museum of Natural History.

What follows is a heartwarming, poignant and uplifting story, with complex layers. It’s a tale of two children, desperate for an escape to another world, another version of their lives, where they feel fulfilled. It’s about adversity and challenge. ‘Wonderstruck’, what a wonderful title. It positively fizzes with optimism and energy.

This movie will move you, it will enchant you and it will uplift you.
