THE DUSHMAN Releases New Album ‘LOVE POTION’

South African producer and songwriter Sabelo Kheswa, aka The Dushman, released his latest album, ‘Love Potion’ on February 14. His influences include the likes of Polow da Don and fellow South African Mr Chaklas, and his music has an energetic vibe featuring hip hop aspects.

The Dushman started his musical journey performing at high school events and opened his own label, Nozulu Productions, in 2007. He released his first unofficial single ‘Self-Pleasure’ in 2009, which caught the eye of Nimrod Nkosi, who then invited him in 2010 to appear on his tv show. The track peaked at #23 on the Jozi FM top 30 chart that year.

Following this success, and performances in the township of Kwa Mashu, and Soweto, in 2011 and 2012, The Dushman wanted to take his career to another level, and so he renamed his label, TDM Music Group, releasing his first official single, ‘I Am A Chaklas’ in April 2015. The track is gaining international airplay, including in the UK on Deeplomatik Radio.

The Dushman’s music blends contemporary style with a 90s RnB feel. The six song project features modern day love tracks and builds a connection with his listeners about the message of love.

First track, ‘Passion’ (ft Blendor) is an upbeat and bouncy track with a very catchy rhythm and some interesting autotune effects. ‘On Your Mind’ (ft Jay-Jay & DJ Ndabs) is an RnB track with a smooth lyric feel and some rap rhymes.

Chocolate Body Paint’ features vocals by South African RnB/Afro singer Qhawelentombi and is laid back and danceable, with glorious horn seciton.
