MEDITATE debuts video for ‘AWAY’

Meditate, aka Mehdi Monir, recently debuted his first ever video for his song, ‘Away’. The rapper, songwriter and model encorporates a fusion of both hip hop and grime.

Brighton-based Medidate discovered his love for music at the age of 15, and released his first 4 track EP, ‘Wake Up And Into Your Dreams’ in 2014, with the hip hop tracks pulsing quick beats on a thumping bass. Latest single ‘Away’ reflects early hip hop influences and memorable rhymes.

The video for ‘Away’ was released on Medidate’s own label, ‘Medidate Records Limited’, and gives some insight into his struggle with breaking into the music scene. Speaking about the EP he said, “it touches on other personal things and also gives an insight into the life of ruff sleepers in Brighton”, and takes inspiration from the likes of Mr Probz, Saint Jhn, Manu Crooks, Mumford and Sons, Kings Of Leon, Adele, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Chase and Status. The lyrics are hard hitting and the perfect complement to the overall theme of the video.

Meditate’s new album, ‘Truths’, is set for release soon, and contains nine tracks based on certain truths in his experiences. Find Meditate online on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and his official website.
