Janey Street – ‘Undone’

Nashville-based singer songwriter Janey Street has a lifetime of experience in the turbulent music industry, and has lived to tell her story, one song at a time. Janey’s latest single, ‘Undone’, is thought-provoking, and seeks to answer the questions we’re all burdened with, about our selves, and the world around us.

Born and raised in New York City, Janey Street recorded several albums for top labels such as Warner Bros, Reprise, Capitol, and Arista Records, under the guidance of legendary music mogul, Clive Davis. she saw huge success, with her single, ‘Under The Clock’, making the Billboard Top 20, and the video played on VH1. She toured extensively and opened for the likes of The Bee Gees, John Hammond Jr, and Richie Havens, among others. She’s also written songs for such diverse artists as Grammy nominated Ruth Brown, Dutch artist Judith, and Japan’s Maria, among others. She’s also seen her music featured in TV and film, including two in the animated film, ‘Foodfight’, released in 2013, which starred Hillary Duff and Eva Longoria.

‘Undone’ is Janey’s latest single, from her album, ‘In My Own Skin’, which she released in June this year on Blue Élan Records. The video opens in her hometown of Manhattan, New York, and features shots of city life and iconic skyscrapers, giving the clip a taste of how it truly is. Locations such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Time Square, and Ground Zero, all work to show viewers that even with the millions of people who travel the streets of New York, it’s possible to still feel alone. Lyrics such as,

Is it me or the world that seems to be unraveling?
Is it time that naturally is travelling?
Is it in my head or outside that’s falling apart at the seams?
Is it real or is it just in all my crazy dreams?

open us all up to looking deeper into both her journey as well as our own. It’s a hard hitting message, but a worthwhile one.
