Magnus Murphy Releases New Single ‘Lightning’

Based in Brisbane, Australia songwriter, producer and model Magnus Murphy’s music is anthemic with a very distinctive delivery, which comes from his background in the theatre. His new single, ‘Lightning’, which was released on September 29, is an uplifting summer-tinged track with slick production values and instrumentation by Magnus himself.

‘Lightning’ was also written by Magnus, who co-produced it with Shaun Pryor, best known for his work with Wafia, and Vancouver Sleep Clinic. With mastering by Tom Coyne (Justin Bieber, Adele, The Weeknd), ‘Lightning’ is a truly authentic pop song, calling to mind Kygo, Taylor Swift, and even Coldplay.

The video featurs Magnus and a white-clad female dancer, telling a tale of a two lovers, and the acceptance of letting go. The clip weaves in scenes of Magnus set against the Brisbane skyline, amid shots of strong emotional dance, delicate and soft movements, juxtaposed with sharp lines and jutting splits. The clip creates an empowering and honest track – a visual journey.
