Beaux Cheveux – ‘Deeper Feeling’

Beaux Cheveux was brought together in 2015 by the duo’s personal love of songs, past and future. Made up from Adrian Conner and Clementine, who in their other lives respectively perform in AC/DC (Hell’s Belles) and Led Zeppelin (Zepparella) tribute bands, have joined forces to release original music. Their debut single, ‘Deeper Feeling’, brings an entirely new sound to the modern musical landscape.

Adrian and Clementine were separated by thousands of miles of distance, but nonetheless began swapping audio files in collaboration between their homes in San Francisco and Austin. After two years of this, Beaux Chevea]ux is now perfected, and the band keep one foot in the future, with their use of electronic textured instruments, and one foot in the 70s rock past of guitars and monster drums. The result is a trippy, psych, dream pop style.

‘Deeper Feeling’, the first track from Beaux Cheveux’s debut album, ‘Ro Sham Bo’, is Tom Tom Club meets Bananarama, and kicks off with a classic 70s guitar, held together with a clean drum, and some layered electronic samples. Harmonising vocals in the chorus make for an incredible release after the tight beat. It’s a compelling sonic landscape, and is accompanied by an organic, home-grown video, featuring the pair spending time with nature, impersonating animals, singing to skulls…and of course, jamming. They show that they take everything seriously, but not themselves, which is quite refreshing.
