Montauk Hotel Release ‘Sense Of Place’ Following Debut EP

Dublin based indie-shimmer-pop act Montauk Hotel have released their new single, ‘Sense Of Place’, following their debut EP earlier this year.

The four piece group consisting of Claudia Verdecchia on vocals, Shell Dooley on guitar, Aoife Hester on bass and Karmima Dillon El-Toukhy on drums, have been making quite an impact on the Dublin live music scene. Montauk Hotel have performed at the likes of Bello Bar ,and the Sound House, with headline shows at Whelan’s and The Workman’s Club. They have also played at Vantastival and Sunflower Festival, and were selected as RTEs Irish Band Set To Rise for 2017.

Debut single, ‘Black Dress’, was released in late January and met with critical acclaim. Montauk  Hotel launced their EP at a sold out show at Whelan’s on 10 March. The follow-up single, ‘Sense Of Place’ will similarly be launched at Whelan’s, tomorrow night, August 12.

The video for ‘Sense Of Place’ is shot in and around Dublin, showing both the wide open spaces of the Irish countryside as well as suburbia. In essence, we get our identity, or our sense of place from our environment.

The video features Kevin Hegarty and was directed, filmed, and edited by lead singer Claudia Verdecchia, with the track recorded and mixed by Gary White, and mastered by Fergal Davis, at Lamplight Studios, Dublin.

You can find out more about Montauk Hotel online on their Twitter, Facebook, Soundcloud, Instagram, Breaking Tunes, and YouTube accounts.

‘Sense Of Place’ is available to stream on Spotify and download from Bandcamp and iTunes.
