The Kris Heaton Band’s sixth album, ‘World Gone Mad’, was released recently and is 12 tracks of his unique brand of rock’n’roll, which has been described as, “a little bit like Bruce, but with a rock and pop twist”.
Connecticut-based Kris Heaton has garnered a massive following, not just in the US, but also around the world, and has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Greg Allman, and The Brandenburg State Symphony Orchestra, who joined him on an orchestra version of his songs, ‘Stand Up’, and ‘Something New’, the latter of which is on ‘World Gone Mad’. In addition he’s won numerous awards, including the Miller High Life Rock To Riches Award, as well as the Akadema Music Award for Best Rock Song 2017, with ‘Who Let The Bullets Fly’.
Kris’ husky voice and expert guitar playing are very complementary of his lyricism, and make the album very easy to listen to. Our favourite track is ‘The Moment’, with its almost reggae feel and uptempo beat.
‘World Gone Mad’, released in June this year, covers the gamut of emotions, from taking chances (‘Something New’), love (‘I Want You’ among others), and making the world a better place, such as in ‘Better World’ and ‘Way Of The World’.
