Adaline Takes Us Back To The Start Of Love With ‘Nostalgia’

Adaline’s hook-infused compositions and moodily romantic lyrics take you right into the world of the Toronto, Canada artist. An expert at weaving cinematic elements into her art, the video for Adaline’s single, ‘Nostalgia’, starring Giacomo Gianniotti, best known for ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is more like a beautifully shot film.

Adaline takes influence from the likes of Florence And The Machine, sigur rós, London Grammar, and Judy Garland, and it’s clear her intention is to make her music both emotionally stirring and cinematically captivating. Her previous album, ‘Modern Romantics’, was nominated for ‘Pop Album Of The Year’ at the Western Canadian Music Awards, and she was also featured in Cineplex’s 2015 short film, ‘Lily And The Snowman’, with a cover of Genesis’ ‘Follow You Follow Me’:

‘Follow You Follow Me’ featured in the Top 50 Billboard Canada chart, and she hopes to replicate that success with the video for her new single, ‘Nostalgia’, which comes from her critically acclaimed album, ‘Aquatic’.

The video shows Giacomo Gianniotti and Kimberly Laferriere as two lovers, alongside a younger version of themselves, in an embodiment of the feelings of first love. Both versions of the couple dance in a school gymnasium, decorated for Prom.

Kim and Giacomo become more and more distant from each other, unable to retain the same feelings of love they felt when they were younger. Shot gorgeously in black and white, the clip conveys feelings of melodrama, and is the perfect showcase for Adaline’s talents in songwriting and composition.

Stream ‘Nostalgia’ on Spotify and Apple Music, and download from iTunes and Amazon. You can find out more about Adaline from her official website, Twitter, and Facebook.
