Triple Goddess – ‘Born to Raise Hell’

Southern New Jersey quartet Triple Goddess released their new single, ‘Born To Raise Hell’ earlier this year, on Rockhead Records. The track follows on from their debut EP, ‘Pure Power’, released in July last year.

The genesis of Triple Goddess dates back to 2010, with drummer Bobby Andrews and guitarist/vocalist Frank Sacco. The pair had been playing in other musical ventures, but Bobby and Frank stuck together, and recruited Frank’s younger brother Joe to play bass, and then asked long-time friend, Matt Peterson, to play guitar.

‘Born To Raise Hell’ is hard rocking with a feel-good sound, in the vein of AC/DC. The song’s video is as wild as it is loud, opening on some motorcyclists roaring down the highway, while a mysterious smoking woman sits in her car, observing. The girl is the centre of the video – “she was born to raise hell” – and she takes off in her Chevvy pickup, ending the video having yet another cigarette while posing seductively on the roof of her car. It’s good hard rock and roll, and a lot of fun, with the band performing in the clip, surrounded by fire. It reminds us a lot of early Motörhead, with lead singer Frank Sacco even bearing a passing resemblance to the late great Lemmy.

Triple Goddess are performing tonight at Championship Bar, Trenton, New Jersey, at The Whiskey Tango, Philadelphia, on June 17, and July 15 will see them at Dockside Bar, at Dave & Buster’s, also in Philadelphia.
