Jaylon Ashaun – ‘Settle’

Jaylon Ashaun is only 22 but he knows where he’s heading and how he’s going to get there.

From Houston, Texas, Jaylon started singing in the Church, and didn’t lose his faith even after his father died to an enlarged heart. He instead embraced it, and credited God for the blessings in his life. His music has been described as a cross between R&B and Pop, with his musical inspirations including One Republic, Xavier Omar, and John Legend, among others.  Jaylon started singing from the age of four, then moved onto piano lessons at six. Clearly a musical prodigy, he picked up guitar in high school, and released his first album, ‘Identity’, in 2015, closely followed by ‘Dream Of You’. ‘Settle’ is the latest release from ‘Dream Of You’.

Jaylon says of his music:

“I love the creative process. Coming up with a concept and then seeing people relate and be impacted by that idea is fascinating to me.”

The video for ‘Settle’ features masked characters, including pigs, creeping around Jaylon, who remains unfazed by them, and eventually realising that he has strength and potential. Simply shot, the video nonetheless causes the viewer to think about what it all means. The track itself is stripped back and solemn, its laid back pace entirely in keeping with the video.

Find out more about Jaylon Ashaun online on Twitter, Facebook, Soundcloud, and his official website. ‘Settle’, as well as Jaylon’s other releases, is available on iTunes and Bandcamp.
