Apella Release Video For Brand New Single, ‘Logic’

Following the success of their first two singles, ‘We Met At A Party’, and ‘Graceful Dancer’, Apella are back with their new song, ‘Logic’, for which the video was released today.

The video for ‘Logic’ was recorded in 24 hours, and is singer Dara Quilty’s directorial debut. Dara Munnis took the reins as director of photography.

Apella are making their mark on the live music scene in Dublin, and recently played Whelan’s main room, with some well known fans, including Ed Sheeran and his friends Jedward (John and Edward Grimes), and Saoirse Ronan, coming to check them out after Ed’s sold out Three Arena show.

Dara Quilty said of ‘Logic’:

“I’m very excited to be releasing our third single, this is the one that brings the dynamic sound of Apella together, producing the record I treated each song as it’s own entity and Logic is an upbeat ‘Beatles-esque’ meets Morrissey track *no offence Paul McCartney, Morrissey or animals.”

‘Logic’ is an upbeat change from their most recent release, ‘Graceful Dancer’, and the video’s simplicity and fun is also in stark contrast to ‘Graceful Dancer’ with its strong emotional content. The video sees Apella members, Dara Quilty and Ronan Nolan, share screen-time with ‘Drumsticks’, a giant chicken. The video is shot in an empty room, featuring only the bandmates (and chicken) and their instruments. Each in turn, even Drumsticks, takes to an instrument, and there’s some humorous props, including false moustaches, and a can of cola, which Dara seems to have a problem drinking.

Apella will be performing at the following festivals over the summer:

June 9th:   Bare In The Woods Festival, Laois

June 25th: Sea Sessions, Bundoran, Donegal

Aug 5th:     Castlepalooza, Offaly

Aug 6th:     Indiependence, Cork

Aug 18th:   Canal Quarter Festival, Tullamore, Offaly (with The Riptide Movement)

Find Apella online on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Soundcloud. ‘Logic’ is available to download from iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon, and to stream on Spotify and Apple Music.
