Joe Innes & The Cavalcade Release Single, ‘Moscow’

The new single, ‘Moscow’, from Joe Innes and the Cavalcade comes from their upcoming album ‘Foreign Domestic Policy’, a stunningly poignant and relevant piece of work in these uncertain times.

The track is about the artist’s relationships, his mental health and his experience, all framed by the political events of the past year.

The artist says,

“It’s how I feel about where I am as a person, as a husband, and as a citizen of the UK in 2017”.

‘Moscow’ weaves a familiar narrative of lost love, but one framed by the West’s uneasy relationship with the Russian Federation.

Joe Innes and the Cavalcade is a labour of love for the lead troubadour. Joe formed the Cavalcade to be revolving door of musicians to perform with, and has recruited numerous talented musicians over time such as Angie Rance, from Patch and the Giant, and Zach Comtois, Britney Spears’ guitarist who Joe met while touring in Germany.

Joe Innes and the Cavalcade’s early releases were financed by Joe selling his comic book collection; and saw comparisons to the works of Jeffrey Lewis & The Junkyard, Bright Eyes, and The Decemberists.

The group saw radio support from Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson and went on to perform at major festivals such as Camp Bestival and the Secret Garden Party.

The subsequent EP ‘Brian, I’m a Genius Too’ was lauded by The Line of Best Fit amongst others for its “masterful and confident melody” and, following a European tour and numerous festivals spots, Joe and the band began work on their upcoming debut album after a hugely successful crowd funding campaign raised a lot more money than selling comics did.

The album launch party takes place in May, and will feature Joe and his full nine-piece Cavalcade. If you haven’t checked out Joe Innes and his post-Brexit-indie outfit yet, treat yourself to a listen of ‘Moscow’ and a ticket for what promises to be one hell of a show.
