Tasha Michelle Writes A ‘Letter of Appreciation’

Based in New York City, but originally from Pittsburgh, Tasha Michelle grew up with the sounds of Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, and Richard Smallwood among others, from all genres of music.

Tasha was brought up in the Methodist Church where here mother, aunt, and great-grandmother all sang in Gospel quartets. Tasha discovered the love of music could only be felt – never taught – and so her new song, ‘Letter Of Appreciation’, is her thank you to all those artists – including her family and friends – who helped her become who she is today.

Tasha’s love of music grew right through high school and continued as she studied and gained her Theater Arts Major from the University of Pittsburgh. From there she established herself in NYC as a popular and in demand backing vocalist for the likes of Patti Labelle, Stevie Wonder, and Elton John – among many others.

Despite all this however, Tasha has always kept in touch with her roots – and in her new video, ‘Letter Of Appreciation’, she is shown entering an empty Church, where she gets carried away in the moment. Musicians gather together behind her while Tasha lets rip with her magnificent voice. Gradually passersby gravitate into the church as well, drawn in by her magnificent voice. Tasha’s God-given talents are undeniable as she sings along to the music on her iPod. It’s a stunning yet simple video for a gorgeous song, and you can feel her genuine passion.
