This Human Condition Celebrate Alan Turing With New Song ‘Breaking The Code’

The new single from This Human Condition, ‘Breaking The Code’ is set for release on January 31. Dedicated to WW2 codebreaker Alan Turing, best known for cracking The Enigma Code, the song was written on the day Turing received his posthumous Royal Pardon.

‘Breaking The Code’ is in the duo’s customary “Electric Handbag Punk” style, and tells the story of how Turing, a brilliant mind who was able to unravel one of the biggest puzzles facing the Allies in World War 2, was nonetheless hated and prosecuted for his homosexuality, which at the time was considered a criminal offence in England. Turing died in 1954, of poisoning from a fatal dose of cyanide, the inquest determining it to be suicide. The song is upbeat and dance-y, and is surprisingly not at odds with such a serious subject. The chorus is catchy and very memorable.

‘Breaking The Code’ is from This Human Condition’s debut album, ‘Project Zero’, and is released with two contrasting remixes from Sauerwelt, and LPF.

You can find This Human Condition on Twitter, Facebook, Soundcloud, and their official website. ‘Project Zero’ is available on CD here, and as a download from iTunes and Beatport. Stream it on Spotify.
