One of the UK’s finest and longstanding indie bands, The Wedding Present have made a name for themselves within the U.K. indie music scene with a total of eighteen top 40 hit singles under their belt and still growing strong as the band has just released their ninth studio album.  Going, Going is a twenty song album that retraces and tells a story of a North American road trip allowing the art and music to provoke emotion into the listener in order to recreate the experience of their journey. Each song has an accompanying video which illustrates the moods and feelings of the journey as portrayed by Gedge.

It’s hard to deny the brilliance of a band that, so late in its career, can crank out an album as passionate, hook-filled, and flat-out fiery as this – AllMusic

Full of bizarre twists and turns that make it unlike any album they have released to date – Drowned In Sound

The Wedding Present was formed in 1985 and has strived on with longevity thanks to the dedication and persistence of lead man David Gedge who seems to be enveloped in the art of his music writing, especially the new music that has been written for ‘Going, Going’. The songs and lyrics are a bit more spiritual and contemplative compared to previous music written by the band with unexpected twists and turns that steer the listener away from the monotonous pop structure songwriting standards that plague a majority of popular music today.  With an album title that is hinting toward the end of the road for The Wedding Present now is the time to catch them on what could be their last tour.  They will be playing in the US throughout the month of April with supporting indie pop star Colleen Green.
