Jeff Rosenstock “Pash Rash”

Pitchfork described Brooklyn native Jeff Rosenstock’s new album, ‘WORRY’, as his magnum opus. Although at first reading this might seem an extraordinary claim, the truth is that Rosenstock has had a major impact both on stage and off shaping the modern American DIY punk scene, and is one of the most important names in that genre.

With his former groups, Bomb The Music Industry!, Kudrow, and The Arrogant Sons Of Bitches, Rosenstock helped revolutionise the “pay what you want” concept: they also capped show fees, and welcomed audience members onstage, thus ensuring they were fan-friendly. Now with his new single, ‘Pash Rash’, Rosenstock shows fans that their love and patience is well earned.

The song is just under two minutes of full on American Punk rock, and the video is as hard rocking as the song, with Rosenstock playing loud and proud, and the audience being just as much a part of the show. Directedby Benjamin Epstein and David Combs, the video shows Jeff and his band, and the audience, all in turn, each occupying a core space in their own time.

The glitching of the various characters in the clip is a nice effect, and adds to the overall feel of the video. It’s raw and powerful, and although quite short, it gets you hooked and keeps you there.
