Toronto-based pop artist Jordan Alexander, who has been described by AfterEllen as “the next gay pop star”, gives her grandmother a night to remember in the video for her new song, ‘Take Me Out Tonight’.

Jordan Alexander only started performing in 2013, and in that time she’s picked up a vast number of accolades for her live performances. Such has been the response that Bif Naked personally chose her to appear on the ‘Bif Naked – I, Bificus – Songs and Stories Tour’.

She first got into songwriting when her girlfriend bought her a guitar, and then signed her up for the Spectra Talent Competition. Jordan won the competition, performing her own songs, and then followed this up by performing in Ebonnie Rowe’s all-girl music showcase, Honey Jam, two years in a row. This connected her with her new producer, the Grammy nominated and Juno Award winning, Gerald Eaton.

Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Jordan has found her place in the Toronto music scene. Her heartfelt lyrics and catchy chorus, combined with her sultry voice are all hallmarks of her music, and her debut album, ‘The Lonely Hearts Club’, which she released in June this year. Jordan first met Bif Naked and her manager, Peter Karroll, selling books at Bif’s book launch. Peter took on managing Jordan as well, and made her the opening act for Bif Naked’s shows in Toronto (May 17) and Ottawa the following day. Additionally, Jordan has opened for Jess Glynne back in 2015, and shared the stage with Tegan and Sara, in 2014.

Jordan has received tremendous support from the LGBT community, and performed this year at the Pride Festivals in Columbus, Ohio, and Toronto.

Jordan’s new video, ‘Take Me Out Tonight’, directed by Jarvis Church, shows Jordan and her friends showing up at her grandmother’s place, to take her out for a night to remember. They swing by in a classic car, and have a fun filled evening involving a ferry ride, skinny dipping, tequila shots, and maybe a crafty joint.

You can find Jordan online on her official website, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
