Eddie Petterson, from Brisbane, Australia, is a singer songwriter whose new EP, ‘Fait Accompli’ is available to pre-order from iTunes, with an expected release date of November 25.

Eddie was travelling around the UK, Scandinavia, and Iceland, and recorded the EP with legendary keyboard session player and record producer, Andy Whitmore, at his Greystoke Studios. Whitmore is best known for his work with Spandau Ballet, Elton John, and Eternal.

Eddie met up with producer Joe Rodwell, who after hearing a few of his demos, agreed to work with Eddie upon his return to Australia. The EP came with its own challenges, not least of which was writing songs on guitar, which were to be recorded on piano, as well as collaborating with a producer who was living in a different time zone! But Eddie overcame all the obstacles, and his EP is a ‘Fait Accompli’ in both name and fact.

Petterson’s voice is raspy and yet soothing, reminiscent of Tom Petty, and it suits the mainly piano and horn instrumentation (there’s also some very nice electric guitar in the track, ‘Papa Said’, the lyrics of which include the EPs album). The very gentle, ‘Muddled Stories’, is our stand out track – piano and horns again, never once in absolute competition with Petterson’s vocals, but rather the perfect accompaniment.

Pre-order ‘Fait Accompli’ on iTunes. You can find out more about Eddie Petterson online on his Facebook page, and official website.
