Essential Covers: This Human Condition – ‘Holiday’ (Madonna Cover)

Essential Covers

This Human Condition have shared with us their take on the Madonna classic, ‘Holiday’.

Starting out sounding like The Pet Shop Boys, but quickly segueing into THC’s signature electro jazz/funk style (for want of a better description), they’ve taken Madonna’s falsetto teeny bop breakthrough record and reimagined it as how it would sound all grown up. Madonna would be proud.

‘Holiday’ is taken from the album, ‘A Fourth Masquerade’, curated by Doncaster Electronic Foundation, which was released on October 31. The album consists of covers of songs you’ll know but want to know all over again, and is part of an annual challenge to challenge electronic artists to record music by artists markedly different to themselves. You can find out more here. Check out This Human Condition on their website.

About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
