Nicky Romero – ‘Take Me’ (ft. Colton Avery)

‘Take Me’, by Nicky Romero, and featuring the glorious vocals of Colton Avery and co-written by The Script, is another future classic from the Dutch DJ, who is known for stretching the boundaries of the EDM genre.

Starting with an arpeggiated baritone guitar melody, the song quickly slides into rock, and takes the listener on a thumping journey via beautiful harmonies. ‘Take Me’ is accompanied by a video which features a young boy – similar in appearance to Nicky himself – sleepwalking his way through the night time streets of LA, while dreaming of growing up to be like his hero, Nicky Romero. He envisions that day when he can be the man behind the decks, in front of hordes of fans. With his turntable set (made from cereal packets and paint) he has his own show with the owner of a corner store, and the pair rave the night away.

Nicky Romero has taken a break from his ambitious video trilogy project to make ‘Take Me’. Parts one and two of the trilogy, ‘Lighthouse’, and ‘Future Funk’, follow the story of Jon, and his complicated journey through life. We’re eager of course to see part three, but in the meantime, ‘Take Me’ provides a nice distraction.

You can find Nicky Romero online on his official website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Spotify. Find out how to download and/or stream ‘Take Me’ from here.
