Luce Shows A Different Side Of Seattle With Debut Track ‘New Mercedes’

Luce 3

Seattle-based Luce is not your typical musician from the Pacific Northwest. Far from grunge and guitar rock, the artist makes music with a hip hop up tempo vibe. His debut track, ‘New Mercedes’, features a video with the background of fast cars, beautiful women and the Seattle skyline and vibrant nightlife.

Leroy ‘Luce’ Lutu Jr, a fresh and dynamic artist and songwriter, brings a tropical styling to his music, something which comes from his upbringing, his father coming from Hawaii, and being of Samoan descent. Luce himself attended the University of Hawaii, and this has helped to inspire an extensive arsenal of diverse skills, which can be seen and heard in his music. His soothing vocals combined with rich lyrics and well-crafted beats create an elegant and at the same time energetic flow.

Luce, together with longtime friend Lux, with whom he co-founded the independent record label, Create&BeReal Records, aims to show listeners and viewers a different side to Seattle’s music scene.

“We’re in this on our own. There’s no major label feeding us checks and putting us in front of millions of people. It’s up to us to get to where we need to be. We operate under the rule of actions over announcements…walk before talk. We’re not the loud guys making noise on social media filling up your feed with promo b.s. We aim to have our music speak for itself.”

‘New Mercedes’ is from Luce’s debut EP, ‘M U Z M | S Z N’, and is available to download from iTunes. You can find out more about Luce online from his official website, Twitter, Facebook, Soundcloud, and Instagram.
