Meresha – ‘My Love Has Come’

Meresha

Born and raised in Warsaw, Poland, Meresha moved to the US with her family with only one thing in mind: stardom. Influenced by artists such as Prince, Joss Stone, and James Blake, Meresha received critical acclaim for her debut release, ‘New Revolution’, in 2015. Meresha is now back with her followup track, ‘My Love Has Come’.

‘My Love Has Come’ channels a different vibe from ‘New Revolution’, this time finding her inspiration on a more personal level, with her honestly and poignantly putting on display her innermost thoughts. Recently featured on the iTunes New Pop Music section, ‘My Love Has Come’ grooves with a solid electro-soul beat, which provides the perfect canvas for Meresha’s angelic vocals. The accompanying video has taken off on an international scale, with Next Big Sound already rating her a global viral artist, based on her breakout social media explosion.

The video finds Meresha secluded in a variety of confines, whether it be a cage or something more metaphorical. As she grapples through trying to escape, she soon realises that the only person who can free her from her imprisonment is herself. A slick split screen edit brings Meresha face to face with herself for the pivotal moment, which a variety of bold, pastel colours soak the screen one at a time. The message is hammered home in this brilliant display of video work, with Meresha carrying the clip with her captivating presence in front of the camera.
