The Essential Weekly Playlist of: Mikk (I Wear* Experiment)

THE ESSENTIAL WEEKLY PLAYLIST
[space height=”10″]

After a short hiatus, we’re back with the Essential Playlist. This week it’s from Mikk, from I Wear* Experiement.

I-Wear-Experiment1

Estonian trio I Wear* Experiment create edgy big banging beats and synths, with more than a touch of Florence And The Machine-like vocals. Their live shows are visually and sonically impeccable.

I W* E have released three EPs, and this year they reached the finals of Eesti Laul, Estonia’s selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest, with the title track from their debut album, ‘Patience’. Watch for our review to come in the next couple of weeks.

Lexsoul Dancemachine – ‘Beef Grinder’
[space height=”10″]
The song is just pumpin’ and gets me dancing. When I first heard it over the radio before the record came out I didn’t recogni’e the band, I thought of a Chemical Brothers type of old school funk remix and I thought it was all sampled. You can imagine my surprise and happiness when the radio DJ revealed the artist and I realised it’s all recorded together with musicians in the same room just grooving.

Azealia Banks – ‘The Big Big Beat’
[space height=”10″]
What can I send in my defence, well nothing, I´m a secret dancer/raver. I don’t know about any Twitter rants or internet beefs but that’s not important at all, music is, I will go and get my dancing shoes on right now.

Deftones – ‘Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)’ ACOUSTIC
[space height=”10″]
A great song, me and Hando could probably write top 20 Deftones songs of all time research papers or essays. A great track to say hello and goodbye to, great for sunsets and of course driving, especially now, when it’s summer time. Depressed or happy, this song covers it all.

[space height=”10″]
Battles – ‘Atlas’
[space height=”10″]
A brilliant tune, one of a kind, if you want to talk about experimenting and pioneering, dance party let’s go.
[space height=”10″]
[space height=”10″]
Bob Marley And The Wailers – ‘Guiltiness’
[space height=”10″]
I love the lyrics, a great gem off the album Exodus which is a masterpiece on its own.
[space height=”10″]
[space height=”10″]
Daft Punk feat. Panda Bear  – ‘Doin’ It Right’
[space height=”10″]
One of my feel good songs.
[space height=”10″]
[space height=”10″]
Refused – ‘The Deadly Rhythm’
[space height=”10″]
A brilliant track, full of angst and power, I recommend when driving your mountain bike and feeling angry at the world, great anger management song, best therapy! Ear candy!
[space height=”10″]
[space height=”10″]
The Prodigy feat. Public Enemy feat. Manfred Mann – ‘Shut Em´ Up’
[space height=”10″]
Banger, a banger for the summer.
[space height=”10″]

I will end this playlist with this but we have just reached the opening of the rabbit hole and it goes deep. I hope this helps you to understand what I Wear* Experiment is about and how vast our influences are.
