Alexandra Gyasi Combines Love of Poetry and Music With ‘Wedding Ring’

DSC_1930

Born in Peterborough, England, of Hungarian and West African descent, Alexandra Gyasi grew up with a strong interest in the arts, with a love of theatres, dance, film and music. She’s released her newest single, ‘Wedding Ring’, available as a free download.

‘Wedding Ring’ is a simple, yet very poignantly beautiful track, reflecting Alexandra’s love for English Literature, particularly poetry and lyric writing, which began while she was still in secondary school.

Accompanied by a sinisterly gothic video, shot in a graveyard and featuring angel sculptures, ‘Wedding Ring’ is very poetic, opening with a piece of spoken dialogue, presumably in Hungarian. The music is distinctly Eastern European, the intricate guitar composition the perfect accompaniment to the sad, sentimental lyrics, which were inspired by a lost love.

Alexandra describes herself as a chameleon, and tries to cover as many different styles as possible in her tracks. She has studied in both England and the US, and continues to pursue her interests, working in the arts in various ways. She’s written and self-published a book, ‘Russian Midnights’, available on Kindle and Paperback through Amazon.
