We Feel It With Vein’s New Single, ‘I Feel It’

Vein 2

He’s worked with artists such as Pitbull, Red Foo, Jay Sean, Leona Lewis, and Enrique Iglesias. He helped ring in 2012 from Times Square, New York. He’s had a hit remix, ‘Mars’, featuring Jay Sean singing in Spanish. You’ll likely have heard Vein’s work without ever realising it was him.

All this is set to change now with Vein’s new dance single, ‘I Feel It’ (featuring Alejandro Brooks). The follow up to his previous release, ‘Translation’, which featured J Balvin and Mexican beauty, Belinda. In Vein’s words,

My new single ‘I Feel It’ is a result of the success my last release ‘Translation’ had. After all the touring and learning about different countries, it put me in a head space where I wanted to aim for making a completely feel good record for the world.

Born Gavriel Rafael Aminov, in New York City but raised in Miami, Vein is a Puerto Rican/Russian music producer, songwriter and artist. He started learning piano at age five. His mother supervised him strictly even at that age, and his 2-3 hour daily piano practice instilled in him a discipline and dedication to his work – as well as an excellent understanding of music theory – which has since proven to be a vital motivational force in his career.

The story behind Vein’s unusual pseudonym goes back to his high school days.

I have a scar down the centre of my head; they said it looked like a vein. I kind of liked that and thought it was pretty funny, so it stuck.

Vein left school not quite sure what he wanted to do with his life, but he knew he didn’t want a traditional career. He started remixing popular songs, and attracted the attention of local Miami radio stations, who started playing his music. This wasn’t the only attention he attracted. Fellow Miamian, Pitbull, liked his sound, and invited Vein to collaborate on what would become ‘Midnight’, the first of many. The song appeared on Pitbull’s album, ‘Boat Lift’, and also featured in Disney’s dance movie, ‘Step U 2’.

Vein has performed all around the world on tour with Pitbull, but the peak of their friendship has had to be when they played their track, ’11:59′, in Times Square, New York, ringing in 2012. The event was broadcast live all around the world.

Vein started remixing popular songs and once local Miami radio stations such as Power 96,  Y-100  and  103.5  The  Beat,  began  airing  his  tracks, he  not  only garnered  the  attention of  radio  listeners,  but  also of  international  superstar Pitbull. Immediately following was their first collaboration, “Midnight,” on Pitbull’s album “Boat  Lift.”  The  song  transcended  from  iPods to  big  screens  around  the world when it was featured in Disney’s dance movie, “Step Up 2.”

Vein - I Feel It (ArtWork Cover)

‘I Feel It’ is a beautiful Latino style track, with an almost Celtic style rhythm to it. The smokey vocals of Alejandro Brooks give the track a gorgeous sound of summer. It’s not so much an EDM track as a pop song – it transcends genres, which is a good thing in terms of garnering radio play. As Vein says, it’s “a completely feel good record for the world”.

You can find Vein online on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Youtube. ‘I Feel It’ is available to download from iTunes.
