Scarlet Has the ‘X’ Factor With New Single

Scarlet

Singing from an early age, Scarlet wrote her first song at the age of 14. She’s a classically trained singer and pianist, and taught herself guitar. Obviously very talented, Scarlet attended the BRIT School, where she was a member of an alternative rock band, who were shortlisted for Sony ATV’s ‘Best Songwriting’ Award.

Once leaving school, Scarlet honed her craft, gigging all over London. In 2015, with the help of Jessica Sharman, she collated her first collection of songs, which she started performing at venues such as Kensington Roof Gardens, and Dingwalls Camden, to much acclaim.

Tom Simkins, from BBC Radio Cambridge, and BBC Radio 6s Tom Robinson have both played Scarlet’s track, ‘X’, on their Introducing programmes. Scarlet has also found great support from BBC Radio Cambridge, and Amazing Radio.

Scarlet’s ability has been spotted by Resolution, a company that works with new talent. She’s collaborated with them on the track, ‘Sherlock’, which is available on iTunes.

‘X’ is now available for preorder on iTunes, and is set for release on April 15. You can find Scarlet online on Twitter, Facebook, Soundcloud, Instagram, and Youtube. Look for @ScarletBillham on Snapchat.

About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
