We ‘Weather The Storm’ With Rebecca Jade

Rebecca Jade 2

Rebecca Jade has been involved in music her entire life, growing up in a musical home with generations of musicians in her family.

The San Diego based singer has had over 24 years recording experience, and has opened for Grammy-nominated artist, Musiq Soulchild. Rebecca has sung demos and backing vocals, including the recent Sal Filipelli project featuring Sly Stone (of Sly and the Family Stone). Rebecca has performed for the Rev. Jesse Jackson and his guests at the Rainbow PUSH Coalition She has also= featured in works including an on-going project with Kevin Flournoy, pianist for Chaka Khan, and Kevin Dorsey (musical director for, among others, Michael Jackson and Whitney Huston).

Rebecca Jade’s debut album, ‘The Jade Element’, is neo-soul, whereas her latest album, ‘Rebecca Jade and the Cold Fact’, is a soul project, demonstrating her vocal versatility. This album won for her the 2014 San Diego Music Award.

Growing up, the San Diego singer was exposed to a variety of artists, genres and styles, with her own mother a jazz singer in Puerto Rico.

Rebecca has many strings to her bow apart from singing, including modelling and acting. She’s appeared in a commercial for Pechanga Casino, an industrial video for Qualcomm, and featured as a singer in the film, “5 Hour Friends” (starring Tom Sizemore).

Additionally, Rebecca Jade completed a degree in Theatre and Performance Studies at UC Berkeley and has earned her MBA in Marketing from the University of Phoenix. She’s also studied Jazz Theory and Classical Voice at Grossmont College, and – as if she had any spare time on her hands – is also learning to play the drums.

Rebecca was a member of the House Band for Anthology for five years, one of San Diego’s most popular live music venues until they closed in 2013. She has performed at The House of Blues, and at the San Diego Symphony. She has performed the National Anthem on many occasions and was selected as the official singer for the San Diego Gulls Hockey Anthem, created for the 2015-2016 season.

Rebecca’s song, ‘Weather The Storm’, set for release on 1 April this year, is a slow, soulful, almost Gospel number, reflecting her talent: it’s smokey and sultry and has a real bluesy feel about it. Watch the video here:
