We Love ‘Lucky One’ by Why We Love

Why We Love 3

There seems to be a lot of really good music coming out of Bristol lately, not least of all Why We Love, a sibling fronted four-piece who specialise in Indie-Pop.

Their single, ‘Lucky One’, was released in late January, and is from their forthcoming EP, ‘The Boy You Knew’, to be released on My Little Empire Records in March.

With a sound that reminds us of The Housemartins, blended with a touch of much lamented Irish band, The Thrills, and more than a touch of The Smiths, ‘Lucky One’ is perky and fun. The accompanying video is no less fun, and features the four carrying a sofa all the way to the top of a hill, past canals, through mud…only for Joe to discover that he doesn’t fit, so he goes back and gets himself a chair.

Why We Love is made up of siblings Joe and Rachel, who share vocals, and play lead guitar and bass respectively; Anthony (described as having “much hair”) is also on guitar, while the quartet is made complete with Matt on drums.

‘Lucky One’ is available from Bandcamp and iTunes.
