Charity Fundraiser Concert in Aid of Believe in Magic

Believe in Magic

Believe in Magic is a charity which aims to spread magic into the lives of terminally ill children, by way of giving them once in a lifetime experiences: magical parties, celebrity visits, professional photo shoots to capture a special memory, gifts to children in hospitals and hospices.

Founded in 2011 and run solely by Meg Bhari and her mother Jean, the pair work tirelessly for the charity, without the help of publishers, accountants, or anyone else. A mammoth job for just anyone, but even more so when you consider that Meg, aged only 20, has a brain tumour and also attends BIMM. Meg set up the charity when she was 16, to spread magic to other seriously and terminally ill children. The most high profile event for Believe in Magic was last year’s Cinderella Ball, hosted by One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson.

On February 18, Anna Nilsson, one of our occasional writers, and also a student at BIMM, will be hosting a Charity Fundraiser Concert, at the Star of Kings, in Kings Cross.

The concert will feature performances by three BIMM students, with doors opening at 8pm, and the first act on stage at 8.30. Discounted tickets are available with proof of a donation of at least £1 to Anna’s JustGiving site, where she is raising money for Believe in Magic, with a 60km trek on the Great Wall of China. Tickets may be obtained by emailing Anna the donation proof. Names will then be added to a list at the door, with the remaining £5 entry fee payable on entry.

Alternatively, tickets may be obtained on the door for £7, without an additional donation. All money raised from the event will be donated to Believe in Magic.

About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
