Arcelia Invite You to ‘Wrap Your Bones’ Around their Album

Arcelia

Although Arcelia have only been together for three years, they are no strangers to the music business.

A trio of honest artists with very different voices, Arcelia blend in pure harmonies, assisted by guitar and cajon. Simon Foster has worked with George Michael, Zucchero and Natalie Imbruglia, and has been a member of The Flying Pickets since 2004. His voice was once described as being like “Joe Cocker and Van Morrison gloriously bellowing into the horn of Valhalla, while Peter Gabriel hums along…”

Saying that, chief songwriter Gavin Alexander has had his own brushes with fame. His songwriting gift led Chris Difford (he of Squeeze) to invite him to take part in his annual songwriting retreat. Since that time Gavin has joined Chris on some of his solo shows.

Last but by no means least, Teresa Gallagher, whose background is in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, as well as being a voice artist in children’s TV animation and BBC radio drama. Teresa has a beautiful voice which could have been lifted from Clannad or The Corrs.

About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
