advent calendar 18

Songs of Contrast, with their fun party song, ‘I Forgot That It Was Christmas’ are behind Day 17 of our Essential Advent Calendar.

Songs of Contrast 4

Picture the scene: You wake up on Christmas morning, race down the stairs to see what Santa has brought you and discover….

Nothing.

Santa forgot that it was Christmas. He was still in his pyjamas and the elves were still in bed – wouldn’t we rather give the children Easter eggs instead?

Songs of Contrast 3

Accompanied by a fun video, ‘I Forgot That It Was Christmas’ was written by Ian Mitchard and sung by Megan Moore. Released by Songs of Contrast, an independent record label which publishes all of Ian’s songs, it’s not their first Christmas outing. Last year the pair released the single, ‘Christmas Ain’t the Time (To Say Goodbye)‘, a bluesy number, in high contrast to this year’s jolly Christmas tune.

‘I Forgot That It Was Christmas’ is available on Amazon and iTunes. Make sure to check out Ian and Megan’s other songs, also available on iTunes, Amazon
, and Bandcamp.

About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
