Bea Richie – ‘Back At The Beginning’

Bea Richie 3

Released on Q22 Records on 27 November, ‘Back At The Beginning’, the debut single from 22 year old singer-songwriter Bea Richie is an electronia pop soundscape.

The first track to be taken from her upcoming eponymous debut EP, ‘Back At The Beginning’ is a dramatically dark pop song, on the outset delving into the perils of a stormy relationship. It could just as easily be describing Bea herself, as a new artist, who like many musicians, started young, growing up as part of a musical family.

With her musician parents encouraging her, Bea took inspiration from the likes of Amy Winehouse and Nina Simone, which led her to fronting jazz bands and singing blues covers with her school friends. She broadened her musical horizons in college, where she played keyboards in funk and soul bands, and honed her performance with lead roles in musicals at York St John University, where she studied for her degree in music. All these influences have combined to create a talented musician and vocalist, keen to make her mark on the pop landscape.
