Devon Seven Soars With ‘Everything Ends’ EP

Devon Seven 1

Half Danish and half Malaysian, Devon Seven is a proudly independent musician – writing, composing and producing all her own music. Her songs are electronic pop punctuated with melancholic lyrics written about her life, falling in love, and breaking up.

Her EP, ‘Everything Ends’, will be released worldwide on November 25, and was preceded by the release of the single, ‘The Real One’, on September 9, in Denmark. Her second single, ‘Where Light Shines Brighter’, will also be released on 25 November, accompanied by a video.

Devon Seven has played support for Peaches, as well as being a DJ for several years. She has been studying the past four years at Copenhagen University for her degree in Musicology.

Devon Seven says about her new single, ‘Where Light Shines Brighter’:

“I wrote this song at a time when I was at the end of a relationship. Things were going bad between us and I was facing the fact that it had to end soon. The thought of that made me really sad, but at the same time I was feeling miserable enough as it was. I was trying to make myself feel better by dreaming there would be a place in the future, where I would be happier, even though I was feeling hopeless and lost.”

About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
