Voxes – Dreamy Psychpop from Paris With a California Feel

Voxes1

Voxes are a psych/dreampop band from Paris, France, whose new EP, ‘Mind Fuzz’ was released on 25 September.

Lead song, ‘Juggernauts’ is ethereal and dreamlike – essentially does what it says on the tin, with beautiful melodies wafting in and out of a dreamy surfer-style vocal.

Check it out on Soundcloud to see what we mean:

Voxes are a five piece band, who are a fun bunch, if their Facebook and interviews are anything to go by. Claiming in their interview with Words For Music to have all met on Tinder, the band comprises Nick Vox on Voodoo Prayers, Tom and Harold Vox each on Electric Sitar, Ed Vox playing Guru Bass and Mystic Organs, with Leo Vox completing the band on Nipples & Exotic drums…the mind boggles!

We really enjoyed ‘Mind Fuzz’, and found the dreamlike quality of their music quite compelling. ‘Istanbul Girls’, the third track on their EP is possibly our highlight; reminding us of The Doors in places, we liked the sitar (sorry, *electric* sitar) and felt it added a middle eastern/exotic quality to the song.

You can find Voxes on Facebook, Twitter and SoundCloud. ‘Mind Fuzz’ is available to buy from Voxes’ Bandcamp page.
