Ummagma Are On Our ‘Frequency’ With New Release

Ummagma

Here at Essentially Pop we well love a good bit of pop, so you can imagine our delight when our attention was brought to Canadian-Ukrainian dreampop duo Ummagma!

Following on from their crazy release trick, which saw them releasing two debut albums on the same day, they’re back with their new EP ‘Frequency’ which has been given a UK release date of November 13th via Raphalite Records.

The EP will feature original tracks along with remixes from the likes of Malcolm Holmes of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Cocteau Twins Robin Guthrie.

Now to give you a little taster of what to expect from the EP…you’ll be met with Orion flaunting electronic, hypnotic pop sounds, Lama with its layered guitar lines and heartfelt lyrical efforts and taken to Ocean Girl with its folky sound completely changing the release dynamic.

Overall this is a perfectly packaged dreampop-filled release gliding you into a spacey new world with a huge dose of synthesizers.

A melancholy release none the least but one which somehow manages to entwine an array of styles into something very, very special. Order the release from here and keep up to date with Ummagma on Facebook, their Official Website and Twitter.

As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies.
