Jimmy Brewer – ‘Strangers’

Jimmy Brewer1

8 year old Jimmy Brewer was bored by his rural Lincolnshire surroundings and the manufactured pop of the day.

He found refuge in a cupboard under the stairs…whereupon he discovered his parents’ record collection. Jimmy from that time would sit for hours with his guitar (purchased from the Argos catalogue), trying to duplicate the sounds of The Everley Brothers, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Elvis Presley. Along the way he learned how to craft a good, melodic, pop song.

Fast forward to 2013 and Jimmy released his first album, ‘As Time Stands Still’. Since that time he’s toured around the UK, playing festivals such as Camden Crawl and Unearthed in a Field. He also played several dates of Joan Armatrading’s final tour, including London’s Barbican Hall.

Now Jimmy has returned with his second album, ‘Strangers’. Recorded in Studiowz, Wales, ‘Strangers’ is an album with an Americana vibe – but with a British twist.  ‘Strangers’ harkens back to a time of first loves, school, and growing up, and draws influence from artists such as Ryan Adams, Jason Isbell and Ron Sexsmith.

You can buy ‘Strangers’ from Jimmy’s website, Bandcamp, and iTunes. Jimmy can also be found online on Facebook and Twitter.
