Feeling Frikkin’ Fantastic With Mariann Rosa

Mariann Rosa2

Mariann Rosa is BACK! The Norwegian singer and DJ has a new song out, ‘Frikkin Fantastic’ – and it’s hot. We caught up with Mariann to find out what she’s been up to since we last talked to her.

EP: It’s been a little while since our last interview with you back in June. What have you been up to since then?

MR: PUH…. I’ve been super busy. Released a new single in the UK and Norway: FRIKKIN FANTASTIC. Plus made a music-video for the song, made by Kassandra Powell and Loukas Elark. A crazy and scary thing…

EP: Talk us through ‘Frikkin’ Fantastic’.

MR: Girlpower, anthem, shouty/energetic verse. Pops over to a darker and colder vibe in the chorus. Trip/hip-hop style. The whole song is surprising and different, without losing the catchy touch to it.

I´m really fond of this song! Love singing it live, cause it affects people who hear it…hee hee hee!! It kinda reflects human way of behaviour …changes.

EP: Do you anticipate releasing an album or an EP of all your tracks, or are you going to continue to release singles?

MR: There will be a mini-album out next year! Can´t wait!!!

EP: What’s your current take on the state of the music industry? Good? Bad? Any changes that would make a difference, in your opinion?

MR: I´m doing everything myself…Management, label, booking…etc. So if you wanna do something different or just be you: just-do-it-yourself. That´s my motto.

EP: What advice would you have for anyone wanting to get into the music industry?

MR: It´s good to have an idea/concept of what you are and what type of style you´re in for. To believe in yourself is the strongest card ever in the tough music industry. Don´t follow trends…

EP: Do you have any artists/songs we should look out for right now?

MR: Yes!!!! I love the London-based artist Ray Noir. I also listen a lot to Ata Kak, Let´s Be Light, The Garden…

EP: What’s next for Mariann Rosa?

MR: The video for FRIKKIN FATANSTIC will be out “there” soon!!

EP: What question do you wish someone would ask you in an interview but nobody ever does?

MR: What would the title of my biography be…
