Two weeks ago, One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson announced he would be holding the Believe in Magic – Magical Cinderella Ball. This took place last night at the Natural History Museum in London. Tickets were £500 and a table of ten costing £4500 but the majority of tickets were invite-only. The charity strives to make seriously and terminally ill children lives as magical as possible with events like this. His mother Johannah along with two ladies in charge of the charity, Jean and Meg, joined Louis to put together a wonderful night for the kids. The young princes and princesses had their outfits custom made and the princesses even had their names sewn onto their wands. A red carpet was laid down outside with candles framing it to make sure they felt well and truly special walking into their very own fairytale ball. Louis even went to the extreme of hiring fake paparazzi which left the kids feeling all the more glamorous. Eventually the hall was ready so the hosts and guests arrived to take pictures on the red carpet before proceeding inside. Louis posed for pictures with his mother and then with bandmate, Liam Payne who came along to support. A number of stars were also at the event such as Dynamo, Arlene Phillips, Ben Haenow, Chloe Jasmine and Stevi Richards, both from XFactor 2014, a soon to be married couple.
During the evening of the event, Louis and Johannah gave speeches thanking the ladies in charge of the running of the charity and expressing how unique the charity really is. Ben Haenow performed beautifully and Matt Edmonson was the DJ of the night. There was a face painter in the hall to the excitement of the children, there weren’t many children who left the ball without getting their face painted – Liam Payne seemingly included as Louis bid £10,000 at the auction to get Liam’s face painted. Also on auction was Niall Horan’s guitar, Harry Styles’ shirt and many more, with all the money going to the organization. In total, Louis donated over £2M at the event not including all the toys he gave the children and the setting up of the ball which would be about 13% of his total net worth. Liam also donated a massive sum of money but the total amount raised last night is yet to be announced. All in all, it was a magical fairytale night for the children and they truly had the time of their lives.
The One Direction boys have also worked with Prizeo to create yet another competition for the charity, all you have to do is donate to be entered. The higher the donation, the higher the amounts of entries you get for the competition. The prize is winning a trip to London to meet them with VIP tickets to their show. Even if you don’t win, you can still get a little something as a thank-you for your donation, the gift gets better depending on how much you donate. So far the amount raised is over £11,200 and it’s growing every minute. Enter here for your chance to win!
