London four piece Smokey Taboo are a rock’n’roll band seeking to bring together music, art and love.

Lead Vox/Guitarist Luke Shield and Lead Guitarist Mike Whitaker formed Smokey Taboo over a desire to write, perform, and ultimately, conquer the world with their revival of blues and rock’n’roll. The duo brought in Drummer Tom Triggs and Bass/Backing Vocalist Perry Read in September last year and since then they have continuously played shows across London and the South East. Performing in venues such as The Hawley Arms, The Purple Turtle, Proud, and The Barfly, they’ve also appeared at The Great Escape earlier this year, and also Manchester’s Blackthorn Festival.

Smokey Taboo have a vintage, yet modern sound, taking their influences from a wide range of sources. ‘Marianne’ was written by Luke back in March this year, and shows a mature sound from Smokey Taboo – the 60s influence evident – particularly The Doors.

Find Smokey Taboo on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. ‘Marianne’ is out tomorrow, August 7.
