With all that in mind…

Essentially Pop is proud to announce that we have

10 TICKETS TO GIVE AWAY

to see a Live Recording of the Vintage TV Sessions on July 30!

First to perform will be self-taught singer Camille O’Sullivan, who has a hugely respected international reputation for her interpretations of the songs of Jacques Brel, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Kurt Weill and many others. Camille is as much a storyteller as she is a singer, inhabiting every performance with a unique ‘character’ and persona.

Joining Camille on this date will be Katzenjammer, an English-language Norwegian band from Oslo. Formed in 2005, Katzenjammer produce a sound infused with different musical styles including pop, cabaret country, and bluegrass. In 2008, their debut album, ‘Le Pop’ was nominated for a Spellemannprisen award for Best Debut Album of the Year.

Also to perform on The Vintage TV Sessions will be the highly influential band The Troggs, who formed in 1964. The Troggs act as an inspiration for garage rock and punk rock, having enjoyed a number of hits in the UK and US including ‘Wild Thing’, ‘With a Girl Like You’ and ‘Love is All Around’, all of which sold over 1 million copies and were awarded gold discs. The remaining members, Chris Britton (guitar), Pete Lucas (bass) and Dave Maggs (drums), continue to perform their well-known hits and are back on the road, joined by Chris Allen on lead vocals.

Last, but by no means least, will be Midge Ure, who achieved international fame in the 1970s and 1980s in bands including Slik, Thin Lizzie, Rich Kids, and Visage, and most notably as frontman of Ultravox. In 1984, Midge co-wrote and produced the charity single ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’, which has sold 3.7 million copies in the UK. Midge Ure continues to perform his own material, along with popular Ultravox songs, in concerts both solo, acoustic and with a band.

If you would like to watch live performances from Camille O’Sullivan, Katzenjammer, The Troggs and Midge Ure, please arrive at 1pm, for a call time of 1.10 pm. We’re expecting all recorded performances to be completed by 4.00pm but, as many of you are aware, we invariably run a little late….

Please understand that, during filming, Vintage TV asks that audiences to remain seated. They will supply soft drinks and light nibbles only, so please make sure you have had lunch beforehand.

Can we add…

YOU CAN HAVE THE CHANCE FOR A PHOTO WITH THE ARTISTS AFTER EACH PERFORMANCE!!!

If all this appeals to you, and you can be in London all afternoon on 30 July, then email us at essentiallypop1@gmail.com BY 5.00PM UK TIME ON 25 JULY with your answer to the following question:

About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
