Jedward to Walk for Gaultier?

John and Edward to model

We make no secret of the fact that we love Jedward here at Essentially Pop – to us they are the epitome of the Free Spirit. They take the lyrics of their latest song, “Make Your Own Luck” literally, and follow up opportunities as they come. They know what they’re doing when it comes to their career – they’re smart, talented, and let’s face it, rather easy on the eye. So it was very pleasing for us to learn that the Dublin Duo have been approached by top fashion designer, Jean Paul Gaultier, to walk for him at The Life Ball, on 16 May in Vienna, Austria.

John and Edward are no strangers to high fashion, having previously modelled at Milan Fashion Week in 2013 for fellow twins, DSquared, aka Dan and Dean Caten. But this is the first time the pair will be walking the catwalk, and for a good cause, as The Life Ball is one of the biggest AIDS charity events, and will also feature Hollywood star Charlize Theron, singer Mary J Blige, burlesque queen Dita von Teese, Kelly Osbourne, transgender model Carmen Carrera and fellow singer superstar Paula Abdul.

The night before The Life Ball the twins shall also be performing in Vienna at a special concert to raise awareness and money for HIV/AIDS. It’s a timely visit to Vienna, as the Austrian capital will host the 60th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest a few days later.

At this point we don’t know if the Dublin Duo have been invited to attend Eurovision this year, but EP shall nonetheless be reporting live from Vienna, so we’ll be sure to bring you all the action when it happens, as it happens.
